Remember Cassandra Cassidy

On April 17th 2014 my friend was murdered. 
She was heading into work when a couple of girls asked her for help because they were being pursued by some guys. She was lending them her cellphone when a car pulled up and a 15 year old gunman shot and killed her.

It breaks my heart that this even had to be created but her mother reached out to me and asked if I could create a design for a Tshirt that they, her family and friends, could wear to the hearings. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever met and while no one deserves to be hurt or killed for no reason, she was the last person that deserved anything like that to happen to her. 

She was all about peace and love and her mother always refers to her as "My sunshine" I thought all of that was important to put into this. To represent exactly the kind of person she was. The quote beneath her picture is from a piece she did her on deviant art not 8 months before this tragedy happened. Her mother and sister thought it would be the finishing touch.

Artist Comments: "I drew this back in August, in light of the Ferguson protests. Now, I won't discuss the controversial tragedy, but I think we can all agree that it's wrong to attack (and in one case kill) people who mean you no harm and without provocation. Anyways, I was going to color this digitally, but in the end decided that I liked it the way it was."

Thats the kind of person she was. I hope they are able to get the shirts made and I hope that monster has to look at Cassie's face through every trial and every hearing and see, really and truely see the person that he murdered. A genuinely good, kind person and I hope with every fiber of my being that it haunts him. I can't wish harm on him... Cassie wouldn't want that. Though its hard not to think of a million different ways to hurt someone like that, but I can wish that he suffers mental torment for what he did. For her family who is now grieving and for the grief of every single person that was fortunate enough to have known her even though he took her away from us all. 

I am not a religious person but... pray, hope, meditate, rub crystals together, sacrifice a goat (scratch that last one, Cassie would be furious...) ... whatever you do to put positive vibes out there that her killer gets what he deserves for snuffing out the life of an amazing person.
